My name is Frank Pugh. I am currently the Vice President of Programs for the Tallahassee PMI Chapter. I was raised in Des Moines, Iowa and have lived in Ohio, Minnesota, and Texas, and for the last 22 years my wife and I have lived in Tallahassee, Florida. I have 30 years of experience in Information Technology, 26 of which have been in a management capacity.
I started out in administration for PBX, LAN/Netware, and Unix based systems as well as Oracle databases. As I learned more about the business I was supporting, I became more involved in business development and operations. In successive engagements, I led various groups within Medicaid fiscal agent projects in several states. My specialty was data warehouses that facilitate operations, management reporting, fraud and abuse detection and cost/quality analytics. I have also led system design, development, implementations and operations for healthcare eligibility and enrollment systems.
I am currently a Solutions Architect for Optum, a company that provides healthcare data management services. In that capacity, I work on a team that designs technology, business process, staffing and project management solutions for large healthcare data management programs for multiple state governments. From time to time, I join my project management colleagues in the field where I assist in change, risk, and issue management as well as project metric measurements including cost, quality, and schedule performance.
I have a Master of Science Degree in Physics, a PMP Certification and technical certifications in database and systems technologies.
My hobbies are computer programming, electronics, gardening, watching old movies and reading.
