This is a highly responsible position performing oversight of state IT projects with total costs exceeding $10 million. In this context, oversight is the independent analysis, review and reporting on an information technology project. Oversight reporting provides information on the project's scope, completion timeframes, and budget. It quantifies variances, and identifies issues and risks threatening the successful and timely completion of the project.
The incumbent will also perform assessments to determine agencies’ compliance with applicable information technology standards and guidelines developed and published by AST. The incumbent is expected to effectively run and facilitate meetings with internal and external customers. This includes pre-meeting preparations (agenda and calendar invitations), and meeting follow-up including minutes and actions item tracking.
Assists in the development and continuous improvement of the state’s IT Project Management and Oversight Standard (74-1 F.A.C), including preparation of supporting templates and tools.
May manage internal AST projects, ensuring their timely and successful completed. Provides prioritization or recommendations in the event of schedule conflicts. Monitor and report project status, issues, and risks to executive management. Effectively communicates with management; provides timely and effective, written and verbal communication on projects and their associated milestones, deliverables and deadlines.
May provide project management standards training to State Agency project management personnel.
