PMITLH Board Talk -
Follow Us! The Importance of Social Media
Greetings to all of our chapter members! I hope the North Florida Spring weather has brought some brighter days to your life. For me, the sunshine and warmer temperatures lately have felt really good!
My life has recently changed from being a full-time massage therapist and esthetician to a consulting project manager again. Although it has been – and continues to be – incredible to focus on providing therapy through massage modalities to my very special clients, it has also been exciting to work with another great healthcare system in our country to implement new technology for our caregivers and patients.
Having been away from the healthcare project management industry for the last two years, I have re-engaged in hands-on project management leading the end-user device strategy for a new electronic health record vendor at a large healthcare system in Atlanta, GA. One thing I have observed is that it continues to be evident the importance of communicating and the number of communication channels we can now use, especially for such large and complex projects. There are no lack of opportunities and methods to communicate! Between Facebook, Zoom, Instagram, LinkedIn, and millions of websites, it can be overwhelming to know where to turn.
Thus, I wanted to make sure you are aware of the media sites our PMI Tallahassee Chapter utilizes. While our chapter activities continuing to remain virtual, our VP of Communications, Rebecca “Becky” Green, the Board, and the Communications workgroup members spend a lot time publishing PMITLH chapter events and activities on social media. We also send a newsletter to your inbox with important information about our industry, upcoming professional development opportunities, job postings, and much more. We are offering Wellness Wednesdays almost every month to inspire us to focus on self-care, along with motivational and informative chapter presenters. The chapter is involved in a variety of volunteer opportunities, such as creating Thank You cards for healthcare providers that will be delivered to our local hospitals during Nurses Week. We will also be announcing a Regional PMI Symposium in July 2021 where we are partnering with the Emerald Coast Chapter!
I respectfully ask and encourage you to Like, Follow, and Share the various PMITLH sites.
