Executive Presence: A Presentation by Leadership Coach, Nancy Martin
Executive Presence: Ever wonder what propels you into the executive ranks? Of course you need to perform, but what are some of the intangible things you need to put your best foot forward. Nancy Martin is an executive coach who has successfully guided people into executive positions, and is a retired executive herself. She will tell you some of the ways they evaluate employees for promotions and how you can develop some of these skills even if your goal isn't to become an executive.
Nancy’s passion is creating the best work environment for technologists around the world. She is the founder of Nancy R. Martin Consulting where she coaches technical leaders to grow them into thoughtful people leaders. She trains technical professionals at all levels on topics ranging from career paths, corporate politics, communication, and networking.
Nancy is a retired executive from General Electric, and most recently founded and led technical leadership education for the company’s 50,000 engineers and scientists.
During her 35-year career, she held 17 jobs, mostly in engineering leadership, and was the head of the Edison Engineering Program – an entry level program for 1000 engineers and scientists around the world.
She has two children, Jill and Jeff, and is married to a very supportive husband, Dave.
She has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Clarkson University, and a graduate degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University. She is the 2018 recipient of the Distinguished Career Award for the Capital Region’s Women of Excellence.
