Please join us for a Chapter meeting: Featuring James Taylor, CEO of The Florida Technology Council:   Leadership and Decision Making in an Era of Rapid Change

Drawing on his experience as CEO of the Florida Technology Council and his work with state and local government leaders, private sector executives, and technology innovators across Florida, James Taylor will focus on how leaders can make sound decisions and build resilient organizations in environments defined by constant change, emerging technology, and increasing complexity. This session will touch on the following ideas:

  • Understand how effective leaders adapt decision making and planning approaches in fast changing environments
  • Learn how to balance predictive planning with adaptive execution without creating organizational confusion
  • Identify common leadership mistakes made during periods of rapid change and how to avoid them
  • Gain practical insights on aligning teams, partners, and stakeholders around clear priorities

The session is designed to be interactive, practical, and grounded in real experience, with time reserved for discussion and audience questions.

About the Presenter

James Taylor is the CEO of the Florida Technology Council, where he serves as a trusted and nonpartisan voice connecting business leadership, technology, and public policy to help build a stronger, safer, and more efficient state. With more than three decades of experience working alongside private sector executives, legislators, and state and local agency leaders, Taylor focuses on leadership decision making, organizational alignment, and navigating change in complex environments. He regularly advises senior leaders on balancing long-term strategy with adaptive execution and has led the creation of statewide initiatives including Tech Day at the Capitol™, Florida Technology Magazine, and multiple leadership and innovation summits serving government and industry. His work has been recognized with the Department of Justice FBI Directors Community Leadership Award and the Government Technology National Top 25 Leadership Award, reflecting his ability to translate complex challenges into practical, real-world solutions.
