April 2026 Chapter Meeting

Please join us for a Chapter meeting: Featuring Michael Briggs, Partner and Chief Revenue Officer at Trulight LLC:  Transformation Do’s and Don’ts from a Project Management Perspective

Transformation projects are common in today's public and private sector enterprises.   This is due to the great promise offered in adapting to new circumstances in a marketplace and/or relevant ecosystem.   These transformations are often designed to be bold, wide ranging and done in the midst of regular day-to-day legacy operations.  By making bold moves at the speed market/ecosystem change, organizations aim for uninterrupted high performance.  However, if done incorrectly, these transformation projects are fraught with danger.  Michael Briggs will identify best practices for transformation projects, and identity practices to emulate, and those to avoid, based on a 12 step program:

  1. Writing a Strong Project Charter
  2. Key Success factors to drive for Project Completion
  3. Stakeholder Involvement
  4. Understanding your Contractual Requirements
  5. The Role of the Business Analyst and SMEs
  6. Offshoring Development
  7. Independent  Verification and Validation (IV&V)
  8. Corrective Action Plan (CAP)
  9. The Impacts of Mini Releases
  10. Process over Product-Deliverables vs. Demos
  11. Testing Phases
  12. Go-Live and Lessons Learned

The session is designed to be interactive, practical, and grounded in real experience, with time reserved for discussion and audience questions.
