As industries evolve at an unprecedented pace, professionals and organizations alike are rethinking how skills are built, recognized, and applied. As higher education institutions increasingly integrate micro-credentialing into their academic programs, the line between traditional learning and targeted skill development is evolving, creating new opportunities for professionals to stay competitive without abandoning the value of their existing credentials. Micro-credentialing offers a structured, globally recognized approach to targeted skill development that complements traditional education while delivering focused, immediately applicable competencies. Drawing on her experience leading FAMU Online and designing workforce-aligned curriculum for students and professionals, Dr. Bailey will explore the growing role of micro-credentials in workforce readiness and what project managers and organizational leaders can do to leverage them for competitive advantage.

About the Presenter
Kelley Bolden Bailey, Ph.D., serves as the inaugural Dean of FAMU Online and Continuing Education where she focuses on accessible, high-quality, and workforce-aligned educational experiences. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education specializing in curriculum design, technology integration, and micro-credentialing strategies, she has served as STEM curriculum project manager for a $5 million NTIA grant, director of the Candidate Empowerment Center at the FAMU College of Education, and assistant professor and instructional designer for FAMU's online MBA program. Her research spans virtual reality in education, innovative online pedagogy, and diversity in facility management. Dr. Bailey also serves as a commissioner and Vice Chair of the City of Tallahassee Downtown Redevelopment Commission and holds leadership roles in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Links, Inc., and is an associate member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
