October 2026 Chapter Meeting: Featuring Rabieh Razzouk, Director of Learning Systems Institute at FSU

Power Skills

"Lessons from leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams across the United States and around the world."

Presentation by Rabieh Razzouk, Director or Learning Systems Institute at FSU

Session Description
Complex projects rarely unfold exactly as planned, and their greatest impact often extends well beyond the original scope, timeline, or funding. Drawing on more than two decades of experience leading large-scale initiatives at Florida State University’s Learning Systems Institute (LSI), I will share lessons from leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams across the United States and around the world.

Through real-world examples spanning education-system transformation, technology development, research, international development, and emerging work in artificial intelligence, the presentation will explore what it takes to turn ambitious ideas into lasting impact. The session will examine how leaders can align diverse teams and stakeholders, extend a vision beyond a single project or grant, scale innovations efficiently and effectively, navigate significant disruption and change, and continually position their organizations for what comes next.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize how people, trust, shared vision, and ownership contribute to the success of complex multidisciplinary, multicultural, and geographically distributed teams.
  • Identify strategies for aligning diverse stakeholders, including researchers, educators, technology teams, government partners, and international organizations, around common goals.
  • Explore how leaders can think beyond the boundaries of a single project or grant to create sustainable innovations, build organizational capabilities, and generate lasting impact.
  • Apply lessons from leading through uncertainty and disruption to help teams adapt, remain resilient, identify emerging opportunities, and position their organizations for what comes next.
